Victor Wooten Live at The Variety Playhouse, Atlanta, GA
With my ears still ringing from the previous night's performance from
The Roots in T-Town, I headed off to Atlanta. Seated in the middle seat in the back of Emily G.'s car I began the 2 hour trip to the ATL. It was a demon hell ride. When we finally arrived at the venue my ass felt like I'd just spent 10 years in prison being pounded every day by "Dirty" Deevon Johnson. Not cool.
My top priority upon arrival was to secure myself a ticket to the show. Fortunately the box office still had plenty to give away. After purchasing my ridiculously under-priced ticket ($17.50), Sean, Conor, and I headed to the Gyro store next door. I didn't have very much money, so I settled on a slice of Baklava which was delicious. It was just
SOOOO adorable listening to Conor try to say "Baklava". It was almost as funny as Chandler and "Stuck".
We all met back up at the entrance and proceeded inside. After about an hour of waiting, Victor and his brothers made their way onto the stage.

At one point, Vic's drummer stepped out from his kit and began playing himself. He used a hi-hat brush to turn his head, arms, legs, etc. into his own living drum set. It was great.

This is MC Divinity. She was really the only shitty part of the show. However, the rest of show more than made up for her lameness.

Vic's older brother, Joseph Wooten the keyboardist, was awesome. To celebrate being in Atlanta, the Vic and crew covered Outkast's "Roses". Other coveres included "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks, "Little Red Corvette" by Prince, "Sex Machine" by James Brown, "The Star Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key, "Amazing Grace" by Jesus, and "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath.

Since Atlanta was the last stop on Victor's tour, he totally blew that shit up. They played for 3 and 1/2 hours. They finished the whole thing off with "U Can't Hold No Groove"
All in all, an unforgetable adventure.
